I'm embarrassed - I haven't watched any of those movies. But I've heard some really good reviews of American Psycho and My Life Without Me especially. And I need some new movies to get obsessed with watch. Should I watch them?

Definitely. They're both very well done. Prepare for excessive bloodbath in American Psycho, though, in case that stuff bothers you.
